The claims of Jesus were anchored in the agreed and accepted scriptures of the Old Testament. Both Jesus and Apostles profusely quoted the Old Testament to establish the authenticity of their claims.
One example Jesus showed his claims was when he met with the two believers going to Emmaus. In speaking to them he softly chided them that they should have remembered what Jesus taught while he was alive. He that that Jesus was the fulfillment of the Promise of the Father to his Children. He then stated that throughout ancient scriptures, Jesus was the center and foundation, thereof. Furthermore, Jesus categorized the Hebrew Scriptures in three major sections just as the Jewish Faith does: the Law (Torah) the Prophets (Nevi’im) and the Psalms (the Writings, Kethuvim).
