Day 3 - Prayer & Fasting: CONVICTION OF SIN
John 16:8
"When He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment."
Acts 3:19
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
1. Thank God for the Holy Spirit, who came to convict the world. Pray that the people of this city will be convicted of sin as the word of God is preached to them. Pray that they will have the courage to turn from their sin and surrender fully to Christ.
2. Some people have been convicted of sin by the Spirit of God but struggle to surrender to Christ. Pray that God will have mercy on such so that they respond to God’s call before their time is up. Mention those you know.
3. The word of God is alive and active. Thank God for the power that is in the word of God. Pray that the word of God that goes out into the world will be undiluted and uncompromised and as alive and active as it is meant to be.
4. The word of God convicts us by revealing the truth about our hearts. Pray that many hearts will be laid bare by the word; thoughts and intentions will be exposed for judgement and the people will be drawn to the Lord for a refreshing.
5. Malawi is involved in lifestyles that bring a lot of displeasure to God. Pray that Godly sorrow will be evident in us regarding corruption, violence, arrogance, lack of stewardship, deception, etc. Pray that many Malawians will be led to salvation.
