Isaiah 9:2

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined.

1. This city has people who walk in darkness, some not by choice. Pray that this year these people will see a great light. Pray that there will be increased opportunities for them as the church deliberately provides these opportunities.
2. However deep the darkness may be, the light of Christ will make a difference. Pray that we will never hesitate to bring light to various situations in the city no matter how little our light might be. Pray that we will never be intimidated by how deep any darkness may look.
3. Pray that God will grant us opportunities where we can let our light shine. Where we are not able to see these opportunities pray that we will develop sensitivity to the Spirit so that we are able to identify situations that need our light.
4. In some places darkness is deeper than in other places. Pray that God will give us a spirit of discernment and that He will equip us to manage any kind of darkness. Pray that we will be willing to learn and will never feel inadequate wherever God would want to used us.
