Day 13 - Life-on-Life Discipleship
Guiding Principle: Jesus allowed His disciples to observe, participate in, and learn ministry within real-life contexts.
Scriptures
Mark 6:30–31
The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while. For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat
Luke 10:17–20
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name! And he said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Matthew 10:1–8
And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.
Prayer
- Jesus discipled His followers through shared life and real ministry experiences. Pray that ICA members will value life-on-life discipleship, growing through close relationships, shared experiences, and practical application of faith.
- Jesus created space for both ministry and rest as part of discipleship. Pray that ICA members will learn healthy rhythms of service, reflection, and renewal as they walk closely with Christ and with one another.
- Jesus allowed His disciples to step out, serve, and then reflect on their experiences with Him. Pray that ICA members will be encouraged to actively participate in ministry and to grow through reflection, feedback, and guidance.
- Jesus entrusted His disciples with authority and responsibility before they were fully mature. Pray for pastors, leaders, and all disciplers at ICA to intentionally involve growing members and new believers in ministry opportunities, guiding them with wisdom and grace.
- Discipleship modelled after Christ happens in everyday life and shared mission. Pray that ICA Church will cultivate a relational discipleship culture where all ICA members and new believers learn, serve, and grow together in real-life contexts, leading to lasting transformation.
Declaration:
- We declare that ICA shall be the place where people shall be accorded opportunity to learn ministry within real-life contexts.
- We declare that all cell members will be liberated to be themselves and to share their lives with each other without fear of being rejected.
