Day 12 - Commissioning with Authority
Guiding principle: Jesus released disciples with authority, presence, and purpose.
Scriptures
Matthew 28:18–20
And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
John 20:21–22
Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.
Luke 24:46–49
And said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.
Prayer
- Jesus commissioned His disciples on the foundation of His authority and victory. Pray that ICA members will have a clear understanding that their call to disciple others flows from Christ’s authority and not their own strength or ability.
- Jesus sent His disciples with His presence and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Pray that ICA members will rely on the presence and power of the Holy Spirit as they live out their God-given assignments and discipleship responsibilities.
- Jesus commissioned His disciples with a clear mission and purpose. Pray that ICA members will walk with confidence and obedience in the Great Commission, faithfully making disciples and teaching others to follow Christ.
- Christ’s commissioning connected discipleship with obedience and witness. Pray for members and new believers at ICA to be fully equipped to live as effective witnesses, grounded in truth and empowered for mission.
- Discipleship modelled after Christ releases people with authority, clarity, and purpose. Pray that ICA Church will cultivate a commissioning culture where ICA members are affirmed, empowered, and sent to advance God’s kingdom through discipleship in every sphere of life.
Declaration:
- We declare that every ICA member will be commissioned with authority, clarity, and purpose and that wherever we go we will know what to do and how to advance the Kingdom of God.
- We declare that every home cell will be very instrumental in producing this kind of disciples.
