Day 14 - Prayer-Driven Life
Guiding Principle: Jesus trained disciples through a life saturated with prayer.
Scriptures
Luke 11:1
Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.
Mark 1:35
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
John 17:6–19
I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.
Prayer
- Jesus modelled a life deeply rooted in prayer before instructing His disciples. Pray that ICA members as disciplers and disciples will develop personal and corporate prayer lives that shape their discipleship and deepen their relationship with God.
- Jesus’ prayer life demonstrated dependence on the Father rather than self-reliance. Pray that ICA members will learn to seek God consistently in prayer, drawing direction, strength, and wisdom for daily living and ministry.
- Jesus taught His disciples to pray as they learned by observing His communion with the Father. Pray that ICA disciplers will intentionally teach those they disciple how to pray, modelling prayer as they themselves continue to learn from Christ.
- Jesus consistently prayed for His disciples and taught them the importance of intercession. Pray that all ICA members as disciplers and disciples will actively engage in praying for one another, growing in a shared culture of intercession, unity, and spiritual care.
- Discipleship modelled after Christ is sustained and empowered through prayer. Pray that ICA Church will cultivate a prayer-driven discipleship culture where ICA members are grounded in God’s presence and equipped to live out His purposes.
Declaration:
- We declare that we will endeavour to teach every ICA member how to pray, as Jesus taught His disciples and that no ICA member will be ignorant regarding prayer.
- We declare that every discipler, including zonal pastors and cell leaders, will carry a prayer burden for their disciples.
