Day 11- Restoration after Failure
Guiding Principle: Jesus restored fallen disciples and recommissioned them.
Scriptures
John 21:15–17
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs. He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? and he said to him, Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.
Luke 22:61–62
And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.
Mark 16:7
But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.
Prayer
- Jesus did not abandon His disciples after failure but pursued their restoration. Pray that ICA members who have experienced failure, sin, or discouragement will encounter the restoring love of Christ and find healing, forgiveness, and renewed hope.
- Jesus confronted failure in a way that led to repentance and transformation rather than shame. Pray that ICA members will respond to moments of failure with genuine repentance and openness to God’s corrective and restoring work. Pray that other members will give grace to those who stumble.
- Jesus restored Peter by reaffirming his calling and entrusting him with responsibility again. Pray that ICA members who have stumbled will be willing to be restored and recommissioned to serve, disciple others, and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
- Christ’s restoration process was personal, patient, and rooted in love. Pray for pastors, leaders, and all disciplers at ICA to walk alongside each other with wisdom, compassion, and grace as they guide them through seasons of restoration.
- Discipleship modelled after Christ makes room for restoration and renewed purpose. Pray that ICA Church will cultivate a culture where failure is met with truth and grace, restoration is pursued intentionally, and restored ICA members are encouraged to re-engage fully in discipleship and ministry.
Declaration:
- We declare that no ICA member will be lost to the devil because we will ensure the restoration of every fallen disciple
- We declare that every disciple that is recommissioned will serve with a glory that surpasses their former glory.
