• In this year of light, we are driving out darkness like never before.
• We need to get angry in our spirits as to why we have condoned so much darkness.
• One statement that angered me was this:
  •  “Communities of the earth continue to live in brokenness largely due to the ineffectiveness of the Christians that dwell among them.”
•  I asked myself the following questions
  • What am I not doing?
  • Why am I so ineffective?
  • Why is darkness persisting?
• I guess in this year of light we need time for troubleshooting: why are we so ineffective?
• One thing that came out from the Sunday sermon is the fact that we have celebrated ignorance.
  • We don’t really care about our level of ignorance.
  •  We are not even ashamed that there are certain things we do not know.
  •  We are being oppressed left, right and centre by the devil because of our ignorance.
  • Certain diseases we are suffering from should have gone by now but we are ignorant of what is happening.
•  It is time to deal with your own ignorance, get knowledge. In which areas do you need knowledge?

Psalm 19:1-14

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from wilful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. 2

SUMMARY OF PSALM 19

1. There is knowledge all around us.
2. There is revelation of knowledge 24/7
3. This knowledge will give you what you need:
   • Refreshing
   • Wisdom for the simple
   • Joy to the heart
   • Enlighten you
   • Permanence – stands forever, firm
   • Warning
   • Discernment of errors

We have no excuse for being ignorant!!!!!!!

We cannot afford ignorance!!!!!!!

Let this year of light be:

•  A year of discovery.
  • Don’t think you know everything.
  • Don’t think you have everything – which areas are still lacking?
•  A year of seeing things as they really are.
  •  A year of discovering true friendships. Let false friends go.
  • A year of no deception. o A year where there will be no more goofing.
  • A year when suspicion will go; you will know things as they really are.
• A year of empowerment (Light/Knowledge empowers).
  • A year where life will be easier and faster (when you have clear vision you can walk faster)

Isaiah 11:3b He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;

Prayer

1. We will discover what has been hidden to us
2. We will see things as they really are and make correct judgements
3. We will be empowered to do things easier and faster
