36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

John 5:21-25

21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him. 24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

1. Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring conviction of judgment to those who are lost, that they may recognize the seriousness of their sin and turn to God. Pray that they will become aware of the reality of eternal judgment and the consequences of rejecting salvation.

2. Pray that people will understand and acknowledge that Jesus has authority to judge and save, and that this will enable them to submit to Jesus as Lord of their lives.

3. Many do not realize how their spoken word would implicate them on the day of judgment. Ask God to forgive us for the many empty words spoken by various people, including politicians. Pray that the 2025 elections will not be characterized by that.

4. Pray that those who come to Christ will understand that they will be acquitted or condemned on the day of judgment based on their words. Pray that the church will teach its faithful to take seriously God’s judgment.

5. Pray that people will understand that they can jump judgment and embrace eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ. Pray that many will be liberated by this revelation.
