Praying for the World Situations
But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19.
- Thank God that His firm foundation stands. Thank God that the church and anyone can depend on Him and call on Him. Thank God that He answers prayer and does not turn against those who seek Him. Praise the Lord that He knows His own and that He is always with them and never abandons them.
- Pray for Georgia, a small country, between the Black Sea and the Caucasus mountains, in Europe. The country is at risk of sliding back to political instability or even chaos that scarred its early decades of post-Soviet independence. Pray that. Lord will intervene in this nation and prevent this chaos.
- Pray against gun and knife violence that has been reported in China, United Kingdom, Australia and other countries this and the past month. Pray against the evil spirit behind this violence. Pray that those who have lost loved ones and those traumatised by this experience be healed in the name of Jesus. Pray that similar violent and wicked plans will be exposed and thwarted before they cause pain and harm.
- Pray for South Africa as she heads for a general election in late May 2024. Pray that the elections will be peaceful, free and fair. Pray against violence and any evil schemes of the devil who is there to kill steal and destroy. Pray that the power of God will be at work throughout the elections and that the outcome of the elections will be accepted.
- Europe and Asia form part of societies or regions where Christianity, once a dominant cultural and religious force, has significantly diminished in influence and practice.
- Pray that the church in these societies shall depart from iniquity and be holy as the Lord desires. Pray for understanding and compassion towards those who have turned away from Christianity or who have never encountered it. Pray that the Holy Spirit will enable that such people are reached with power of the Gospel.
- Pray for a renewal of faith and a revival of Christian values within the affected societies in Europe and Asia. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts and minds of people, drawing them back to a relationship with Lord God Almighty.
- Pray for courage and boldness for Christians living in these regions, that they may confidently and lovingly share their faith with others. Ask for opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations and to be a light in their communities.
- Pray for Pastor Dr Andrew and Dr Wezi Mkwaila, and many other pastors and labourers serving in this part of the vineyard that God should open doors for them to minister and impact the society for Christ.
