Praying for my Disciples

Colossians 1:9-14

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks[d] to the Father, who has qualified you[e] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Thanksgiving and Praise

  • Thank God that He has called us to be Disciple Makers and given us the power to make disciples
  • Thank God that He increasingly teaches us how to make disciples, so that our ability to do that will tremendously grow this year.
  • Thank God for the growing confidence each one of us will have as Disciple Makers.
  • Thank God for the 21 days of prayer & fasting and for the direction each one of us has received for 2026.

Prayer

  • We have a responsibility not only to teach disciples but to pray for them. Pray that we will learn to pray right for our disciples, knowing what to pray for and doing it with passion.
  • Paul demonstrated amazing commitment to praying for his disciples. Pray that we will be committed to praying for our disciples as long as it is necessary, as often as it is possible and focusing on maturity of our disciples.
  • Pray that we will be able to guide our disciples to acquire knowledge of God’s will that will produce a life that pleases God.
  • Our disciples must bear fruit. Pray that as Disciple-makers we will be concerned when disciples fail to grow and fail to bear fruits; and we will already have plans of dealing with such scenarios.
  • Christian walk is not all power encounter. Many times it is enduring under difficult situations. Pray that we will understand the need for our disciples to have strength to overcome challenges of life and we will commit to praying for that.
  • A grateful disciple understands what God has already done in salvation. Pray that ICA will be filled with grateful people who understand what God has done for them.
