What is God Saying to Me
Recurrent Thought
God given dreams are usually born when His burdens drives us into deep, honest, prayer.
Visions are suggested solutions to challenges one faces or sees. Vision is crafted as the preferred future. Therefore, the main way to create vision is to fully understand the challenge at hand. That is what happened to Nehemiah he grappled with some real challenges and out of these vision was formulated.
We start a miniseries on implementing visions using the Nehemiah 1-7.
Every true vision from God begins not with strategy, not with resources, not with influencers, not even with opportunities but with a holy burden placed by the Spirit of God. Nehemiah was not a prophet, priest, or king. He was a cupbearer. Yet God deposited inside him a burden so weighty that it reshaped the future of Jerusalem.
Background to Nehemiah
He was a high ranking Jewish immigrant who lived in Sushan, Persia and served the King as a Cupbearer. He was used of the Lord to rebuild the City walls and later on went back to Jerusalem to settle. Take note that Judah was ransacked three times as its people were taken to Babylon. Interestingly, after 70 years in exile, as the Lord delivered them and engineered their return, they also went back in three phases. Zerubbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah. Chapter 1-7 is Nehemiah having a volley into Jerusalem before his main return
