Unto Us a Son is Given

Key thought
The coming of Jesus to earth is to bring hope to a people that were despondent, may this season refresh the hope that God brings!
In this season, we celebrate that a Son was given, and this son turns gloom into hope. This son brings revival to spirits that are broken by the enemy. Christmas is a reminder that there is hope through this son who is born. This season is a reminder that all is not lost, because of God's plan of redemption!
Fulfilment of the prophecies
Most of the prophecies have double meaning, they were fulfilled then, and in the times Jesus walked on earth, but some will be fully and finally fulfilled at the second coming of Jesus Christ.
God is at the center of this plan of redemption and but let's not miss that this Son is given to us!!
This son who is born unto us - what the Messiah will do. What do we access through this son born unto us?
- Brings light into darkness
- Jesus is the light of the world, the gloom and despair we have can be overcome by the light of God.
- Jesus as that great light, his message centered on repentance and the kingdom of God. This light exposes sin, there is nothing that can be hidden, the more we get closer to the light the more you see our faults and things we need to work on.
- Satan thrives in darkness, sin that are hidden from light thrive. The little secrets that we have never brought before God will continue to haunt unless God light shines upon them.
- The coming of the Son brings joy
- This son that is given unto us is a bearer joy. He is the good news that we all need. The world is broken by sin, this is compounded by our personal rebellion and disobedience but this Son not brought the increase the joy of the nation of Israeli, but to all of us who have believed Him.
- This is mark of believer, we remain joyful even in pain and confusion!
- We do not lose heart because God is with us, and He is the source of strength and joy
- The Son breaks the yoke of the enemy
- The Messiah brings relief to the bondage of slavery, Isaiah reminds the people of the day when Gideon brought them freedom from the yoke of the enemy.
- Just like Gideon was an unlikely hero, this coming King Jesus would come in a humble estate and yet on a powerful mission to bring freedom.
- He came to set the captives free!! Luke 4:18
- The reign of the Son is ever increasing and forever
- This son given unto us will reign on the seat of David forever
- The kingdom of God is in the now and it is a future kingdom as well, this son reigns now in the hearts of believers and but He is coming again when this kingdom will be fully manifested and there shall be no end.
- Be encouraged if you feel like there is no justice in the world, the kingdom of this son is upheld by justice and righteousness
This king will also be called;
- Wonderful counselor
He is our guide, the source of wisdom for life. You will never go wrong with him.
- Mighty God
This Son given to us is God almighty, God incarnate, God with us ‘Immanuel’
- Everlasting Father
This Son will express care like that of the Father, Jesus never gives up on us. You can trust Jesus; he will not abandon you.
- Prince of peace
The reign of this King is characterized by God’s peace -the Shalom of God- that is wholesomeness.
Conclusion
Do you know him? He must Lord, we must fully submit to His Lordship
Are we walking in the light? Allow Him to expose every work of darkness in our lives, we are all being sanctified daily
Do you have joy? Have you been set free? Is He reigning in your life?
