  • To realize that as we go out to make disciples we are inviting people to be part of this Great Kingdom.

BACKGROUND

  •  From History and to the present time and the future the world has been dominated by kingdoms or kings, authority and powers. In their weak minds and trusting their on capacity and ability or seeking power from small gods they have tried to conquer and control the world.

Few examples of kings /kingdoms super powers

  • Alexander the Great (356–323 BCE)
  • Genghis Khan & the Mongols (13th–14th Century)
  • Adolf Hitler (1889–1945)
  • Napoleon Bonaparte (1769–1821):
  • Julius Caesar (100–44 BCE):
  • The British Empire who at its peak controlled almost the quarter of the world.
  • The current dominance force is split between the USA and China

These leaders were driven by a mix of ideology, nationalism, personal ambition, and perceived destiny, often resulting in widespread warfare, immense casualties, and significant geopolitical shifts shocks that unsettles people including us Christians.

“THE QUESTION WE NORMALLY ASK SILENTLY IS WHERE IS GOD IN ALL THIS?”

He is here

Daniel 2:20-22 - He is in control

He will destroy all dominion, authority and power.”   1 Corinthians 15:24 NIV

“After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, rule is everlasting, and his kingdom is eternal. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He does as he pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop him or say to him, ‘What do you mean by doing these things?’Daniel 4:34-35 NLT

But our King Jesus has this Global Dominion under His wraps

While all the above leaders are controlled by Time Space and Matter, King Jesus controls Time, Space & Matter (His Kingdom covers all the earth) Psalm 24

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”  1Timothy 1:17 NIV

Jesus has this World Dominon - All Authority in heaven and on earth is given to him.

While these were born and they will die Jesus is the creator not created and is alive forever more.

While these Leaders are found in one location Jesus is found everywhere

Mark 1:14-15: Jesus proclaims that the kingdom is near, signaling its arrival.

Luke 4:43: Jesus explicitly states his purpose for coming was to preach the kingdom of God.

Luke 17:20-21: Jesus explains the kingdom is not visibly observed but is "in the midst" of them (or "within you" )

The phrase “kingdom of God” appears 53 times in the New Testament Gospels, almost always on the lips of Jesus. The synonymous phrase, “kingdom of heaven,” appears over 30 times in the Gospel of Matthew. Throughout the accounts of Jesus’ ministry, he is always talking about the kingdom of God. Many of his parables explain something about this kingdom: it is like mustard seed, a treasure, a merchant looking for pearls, and a king who gave a banquet (Matt 13:44-47; 22:2). Jesus even defines his purpose in light of the kingdom: “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose” (Luke 4:43). “TO ESTABLISH GOD’S KINGDOM ON EARTH”

Broadly speaking, the kingdom of God is the rule of an eternal, sovereign God over all the universe. Several passages of Scripture show that God is the undeniable Monarch of all creation: “The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19). And, as King Nebuchadnezzar declared, “His kingdom is an eternal kingdom” (Daniel 4:3). Every authority that exists has been established by God (Romans 13:1). So, in one sense, the kingdom of God incorporates everything that is.

In conclusion where is God He is here - He is in control of all powers

Key Aspects of the Kingdom of God

  •  Definition: It is not a geographical location but the active exercise of God's sovereignty, or "kingship". It represents God's will being done on Earth as it is in heaven.
  •  Centrality in Teaching: The phrase appears over 100 times in the New Testament, primarily in the Gospels, where Jesus often equates it with the "Kingdom of Heaven".
  •  Present and Future: It is both "already" here (demonstrated by Jesus's ministry and miracles) and "not yet" fully realized (to be consummated in the future).
  • Nature of the Kingdom: It is characterized by righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It is not defined by material things like eating and drinking. Rom 14:17
  • Entry and Citizenship: Individuals enter the kingdom through repentance and being born of the Spirit.  John 3:16,
  • The King: Jesus Christ is the appointed King and ruler, who will ultimately establish his reign forever.

Key Themes in the Kingdom of God

  • Redemption:
  • Deliverance: The kingdom involves freeing people Luke 4:18-19
  • Transformation: It change of hearts. 2 Cor 5:17 - New Creation
  •  Divine Government: It is viewed as a literal, future government that will replace all human, earthly kingdoms. Rev 21&22 - The  Kingdom of God being established in its fullness
