The Culture for Great Harvest

Genesis 8:22; Galatians 6:5-10
Recurrent Thought

  • Creating a Great Harvest is depended on setting up a culture of reliably planting the right Seed and managing its growth within the necessary (due) season
    • Human life consists of activities of sowing and harvesting. Living through the cycle of sowing and harvesting is in essence recognizing the sustaining Power and Grace God instituted in the Earth (Gen. 8:22). God loves the created order, including Human beings, to the end that he guarantees their continued existence by the various Laws of Providence established when he created the Universe.  The Laws of Providence reveals God's ability to care, govern, protect sustain, and preserve the universe through natural forces (Laws) that sustain natures building blocks such as atoms, DNAs, etc.
    • Law of Seed Time and Harvest ensures the predictability of life. When one sows, they also harvest.  When one sows seed, they align themselves with the biotic potential found in the Law of Seed Time and Harvest. A harvest is the result or a product (an outcome) of an action or effort. All things being equal and in the right season, whatever one sows they eventually harvest. Through this Law, human beings create their futures. Therefore, those who are intentional about it, they work with God to create a better life (Future) for themselves.
    • Notice the following things in this Law of Seedtime and Harvest as shown in Galatians 6:5-10 which has the call for the support of Spiritual ministers as the context.  The context of Galatian Ch. 6 is calling for intentionality to sustain those who minister among us and it proceeds to use the Law of Sowing and Harvesting as an Example of how to go about it.

Notice the following in the Galatian 6 text:

  • There is always Seed in our hands: Whatever
  • There is soil we plant in: either into Flesh or into the Spirit
  • There is always a Harvest: Corruption or Eternal Life
  • The Process evident: Doing,
  • The Quality of the Process: Consistently
  • There is a Season for this cycle: in due Season

Here Four Truths setting up a culture for Great Harvest based on the Law of Seed time and Harvest

  1. The Law Sowing and Reaping is Unchangeable (Galatians 6:7)
    • All things being equal, the law always works. The Law is sure, and certain.
    • From this side of Eternity, this Law remains unchanged
    • Note how God stakes the working of the Word of God on the certainty of Sowing and Reaping (Isaiah 55:10-11). God says whenever he sends His word; people should believe that it will come to pass. It is as good as whenever you sow; you always believe it will bring a harvest. God uses the natural to prove the supernatural!
    • The Culture of creating wealth is supported by a strong belief that everything you sow brings a harvest.
    • Life is affected and revolves around this Law of Sowing and Reaping. For example, in life we sow in educating ourselves; we sow in praying for a good future etc.
    • A life style of wealth and success is created through the Law of Sowing and Reaping.
    • Our today is the harvest of the Seeds we planted Yesterday and our Tomorrow will be the harvest of what we sow today.
    • The Law of Seed time and Harvest is established by God who also oversees as it as Lord of the Harvest.
    • When you want to act contrary to the Law, you are in essence wanting to control and mock God.
    • The key to developing the Culture of Great Harvest is understanding and taking advantage of the Law of Seed time and Harvest and
  2. Recognize God’s Provision of Seeds for Your Planting
    • Although anything we employ is seed, we do well when we are deliberate about what we plant
    • Based on the Grace of God, no one is too poor to have a seed 2 Cor. 9: 10. Appreciate the Seeds of Your Life: In Every season you are challenged to sow and then wait for the harvest.
    • Your Seed is anything you have received from God that you can sow into some one, or into some realities: Your Prayers are Seeds, Your Money is Seed, Your Patience is Seed, Your time is seed,
    • Your seed is something you create Your Future with. Know also that God always gives you something to begin your future.
    • Don’t underestimate what is your hands. Don’t despise what you have, it is a seed. It may be a little but it is a seed.
    • Many times the seed may be intangible and abstract but it is a Seed nonetheless.
    • Moses had a rod that created passage through the Red Sea and David had a slingshot to create victory. What do you have as a seed? It could be knowledge, ideas, skills, concepts, etc.
    • Polite Reminder: Everything good you have, God gave you.
    • You only sow what you have. Therefore, stop agitating about what you don’t have but celebrate what you have.
  3. Recognize and Appreciate the Harvests that God Sends to You
    • Every seedtime is followed by Harvest time. You do well to recognize and anticipate it
    • A harvest is any person, idea, opportunities, achievements or acts of Grace God provides to you to provide solutions for you and those connected to you.
    • Don’t miss the harvests. Many times they may not be packaged in the way you imagined or You sowed them.
    • A grateful heart helps you to recognize circumstances, people, ideas, opportunities, achievement and various of acts of favor that are harvests in your Life
    • Recognize that When God sends income in Your Life he provides You with Bread and Seed. 2Cor. 9:10  He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
    • Bread is for today, seed we keep for tomorrow. Ensure you keep on Sowing
  4. Recognize Risks as You Practice Seed Time and Harvest (Psalm 126:4-6
    • A lifestyle of creating harvests is synonymous with taking risks.
    • Like all Sowers of seed, you should know that there are times the climatic conditions become unfavorable.
    • You should know that just observing the clouds is not enough. It is actions within the time of the storm that matters. Ecc_11:4  He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
    • Thus, in the face of risks, farmers continue to hope for a bright future.
    • Seeds must be planted. Remember that if you keep what you presently have, that is the most it will ever be!
    • A seed of nothing produces a season of nothing
    • Sowing what you have is the only evidence of your faith in the power of the Seed and the Lord who made it.
    • When you increase the size of your seed you increase the size of the harvest (2 Cor. 9:6). He who sows sparingly will also reap sparing (2 Cor. 9:6)
    •  Actionable Faith (obedience) is a critical aspect of Great Harvest culture.
