Praying for Ecuador (Latin America)
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;" Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)
"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37–38 (KJV).
"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me." Isaiah 6:8 (KJV)
"Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people." Psalm 96:3 (KJV)

Ecuador faces deep political instability, corruption, and rising violence, highlighting the urgent need for strong, just leadership. The Catholic Church’s influence is declining as evangelical and other groups grow, though tensions and occasional violence against evangelicals persist. While the evangelical Church has great potential to impact society, internal divisions, lack of structure, and false teachings hinder its effectiveness. There is encouraging growth in missions’ vision and participation among Ecuadorians, supported by both local and international organizations. However, many remain unreached, including slum-dwellers, Afro-Ecuadorians, students, and those in isolated regions like Loja and the Galapagos Islands, all of whom need focused ministry and prayer.
1. Praying for the Unreached Peoples –Pray that God will raise up compassionate and Spirit-led laborers to bring the Gospel and practical help to the impoverished slum-dwellers of Quito and Guayaquil, that they may experience both physical transformation and the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37–38
2. Praying for Peace, Justice & Spiritual Transformation – Pray for peace, unity, and protection among all Christian groups in Ecuador, and that religious freedom would be preserved throughout the country. Pray that God will raise up wise, courageous, and incorruptible leaders in Ecuador to bring justice, stability, and an end to violence and corruption.
“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3 (KJV)
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)
3. Praying for Missions and Training – Pray for revival and unity within the Evangelical Church in Ecuador, and for discernment to confront false teachings with the Gospel of truth and love. Pray for a Spiritual Breakthrough in the unique group of the Afro-Ecuadorian people who are only 0.03% Evangelical where the majority are Catholics but Spiritism is the true spiritual power at work in their midst. Pray that they will come to the knowledge of the true God and Christ His Begotten Son, and be able to experience His Death and the Power of His Resurrection.
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:13 (KJV)
4. Praying for Effective Evangelism & Evangelisation – Pray for the effective evangelisation of the less-reached populations in Ecuador, especially slum-dwellers, Afro-Ecuadorians, isolated communities, and students.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV)
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:14–15
