Praying for Slovenia

There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. Psalms 86:8-9

Slovenia has had a Protestant presence since the Reformation but remains spiritually underdeveloped, with very few evangelical churches. The small evangelical community is divided by ethnic groups, lacking unity and sufficient resources for church planting. Many congregations do not have full-time pastors and depend on external financial support. Meanwhile, traditional Christian denominations are losing relevance, while secularism, New Age, and other non-Christian beliefs are on the rise. There is a pressing need for spiritual awakening, unity among believers, and the development of Christian resources to sustain discipleship and evangelism.

1. Pray for unity within the divided evangelical community, asking God to strengthen the formation of an Evangelical Alliance that fosters collaboration among churches.

2. Lift up local churches in prayer, asking for the provision of full-time pastors and financial support to sustain their ministries.

3. Seek God’s intervention to renew the Catholic, Orthodox, and Lutheran communities, drawing nominal Christians into a deep and personal relationship with Christ.

4. Pray for the development and distribution of quality Christian materials in the Slovene language to aid evangelism and nurture believers.

5. Ask God to inspire local Christians to actively evangelize their communities, support their leaders, and send missionaries beyond their borders.
