Praying for World Situations
- In Southern African Development Community (SADC), 17 percent of the population – some 68 million people – are in need of food assistance. Pray that none of these people will die of hunger but that the God who fed 5000 people will supply food for them.
- The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared the ongoing mpox outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighboring African countries a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). Pray that this will not come near Malawi and pray that God deals with it and stops its spread to other countries.
- The Israeli Hamas war has now lasted 11 months and talks are now underway to reach a ceasefire. Pray that both sides will genuinely desire peace and be ready to consider the interests of the other better than their own.
- The floods currently affecting Central and West Africa have already impacted more than 700,000 people, according to a report from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Pray that God will intervene in this situation and grant wisdom that will bring about lasting solutions.
