Praying for Ethiopia (Africa)
I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. John 12:46-47

- The nation struggles through social, political, and economic crises. While the violence has abated somewhat, the humanitarian crisis remains intense with 20 million people affected by conflict. Pray for an end to terrible violence that overtook Ethiopia, and a peace that offers esteem to every region and ethnic group while also enabling a genuine national unity.
- Massive growth in Protestant and Independent churches creates a great expectation for further harvest. Pray for effective means for generating income to support Kingdom workers, to develop the needed structures and facilities and to fund social programmes that are essential in the prevailing conditions of deep poverty.
- Young people make up most of the Ethiopia's population - 70% are under the age of 30. Yet, far too little ministry is focused on reaching and discipling them. Pray for children to be able to be schooled and to find employment as they finish. Pray also that church and parachurch ministries would make discipling the next generation a top priority.
- Bible translation remains a major challenge. There are 35 translation projects in progress; this represents nearly half of all living languages. Pray for wisdom in knowing which projects are priorities and pray for more nationals to become involved in them. Pray for hugely ambitious Bible distribution programme by The Bible Society which needs finance and prayer.
