1. Cuba faces a difficult future. Communist Party leaders hold power, but this economic approach cannot last forever. The economy is one of the weakest in the Caribbean, and too few young people remain to support the older generation. Pray for reasonable reforms to take place in this nation and for freedom as well forgiveness.
2. Deep poverty has led to a successful black market with widespread crime, drugs, and prostitution. Pray for every industry built on sin to be overcome by good.
3. Evangelical churches were devastated by waves of emigration to the USA as well as by persecution. Recovery has taken a long time, but the Church is now a force to be reckoned with. Pray that this dynamic faith community would be a light to the nation and have a powerful transforming effect on Cuba; the potential for positive impact is great.
