Praying for World Situations

Come, behold the works of the LORD… He makes wars cease to the end of the earth… ‘Be still, and know that I am God.’ Psalm 46:8–10

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people… that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1–2

“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations.” Matthew 24:14

1. Thank God for the preservation of life, His daily mercies, and His provision for many people across the world despite wars, disasters, displacement, and global uncertainty. Pray that many will continue to see the Lord’s sustaining hand even in the midst of calamity and distress.

2. Pray for all those affected by the U.S.–Israel–Iran war, asking God to restrain further destruction, protect civilians, and move leaders toward negotiation, wisdom, and sincere dialogue that can end the conflict. Pray likewise for an end to wars, armed conflicts, and unrest in other regions of the world.

3. Pray for healing, comfort, and provision for all those affected by war, violence, and displacement. Ask that in their pain, grief, and search for answers, many will encounter Jesus Christ as Saviour, Healer, and the Prince of Peace.

4. Pray for those trapped in modern-day slavery, human trafficking, crime, abuse, forced migration, economic hardship, drug trafficking, and the effects of natural disasters and other calamities. Ask God to deliver the oppressed, bring justice to victims, strengthen those providing help, and open the way for protection, restoration, and salvation.

5. Pray that in these fearful and uncertain times, the Church across the world will not retreat but rise in boldness, compassion, and truth. Ask that the preaching of the gospel will intensify, that believers will shine as lights in darkness, and that many nations will hear, believe, and turn to Christ.
