Quench the flaming arrows

Thanksgiving and reflection on the Sunday message

Scriptures:

Nehemiah 6:1-14

James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:16 – In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.

1. Thank God Almighty for a powerful, eye-opening message on quenching the flaming arrows of the enemy. Thank God for His unwavering love towards us, His own. We are spared from the enemy’s evil intentions for our lives because of God’s love for us, His children. Praise God!

2. Pray for wisdom from God so that when the enemy brings a distraction of any form, we should be able to say NO.

3. Pray that we will not join hands with the devil to bring flaming arrows of defamation to ourselves, our country, business, families, careers, churches, etc. Pray that we will learn to talk positively about all that concerns us in Jesus’ name.

4. Pray that the church will have the spirit of discernment to quench the devil’s flaming arrows of deception.

5. Pray that as Christ-devoted followers, we will not run away when the devil dashes his flaming arrows at us, but we will be strong through prayer and action.
