Mark 3:14

13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.

Luke 8:1–3

After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.

John 1:39

39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.

Prayer

1. Pray that God will forgive us for failing to deliberately build close relationships in our cells/zones in the past years, whether out of ignorance or negligence.

2. Jesus was prepared to share His life with those He called. Pray that we will be willing to closely relate to the people God brings our way; we will intentionally share our lives with them and train them through lived experience.

3. Jesus provided an opportunity for a close relational apprenticeship. Pray that we will be clear about what we have become in Christ so that we will confidently pass that on to our close apprentices.

4. Jesus allowed the disciples to see where He was staying. Pray that we will be prepared to make ourselves vulnerable in every aspect of our lives to allow others appreciate Christ better. Think about the areas where you need to die to self, and present them to God.

5. Closely relating with others for discipleship might require more time and even more financial resources. Pray that we will be willing to invest in relationships for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Pray for yourself if this is an area you struggle with.
