Praying for the World

Psalm 67:1–2 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.

Revelation 7:9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

God’s mission in the world is entering a new season that requires new models, new partnerships, and broader participation. As global politics, economics, and migration patterns shift, the Church is being called to train, send, and support missionaries in more diverse and flexible ways, with increasing leadership from non-Western believers. At the same time, the world remains marked by deep conflict, instability, extremism, and humanitarian crises, calling the Church to pray, proclaim Christ, and serve as God’s instrument of peace, hope, and reconciliation among the nations.

  • Pray that God will renew and empower the global Church to embrace new, Spirit-led ways of training, sending, and supporting missionaries, especially from the Global South. Ask the Lord to raise obedient workers who will carry the gospel into unreached and difficult places.
  • Pray for unity and effectiveness among mission agencies, networks, and partnerships, that resources, workers, and strategies will be shared wisely for greater gospel impact among unreached people groups.
  • Pray for believers serving cross-culturally through business, relief, education, arts, sports, and other vocations, that God will protect them, use them powerfully, and make them effective witnesses of Christ wherever they serve.
  • Pray for nations and regions marked by conflict, extremism, and instability—including Israel, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, the Korean Peninsula, Somalia and the Horn of Africa, Central Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many more. Ask God to restrain violence, protect civilians, soften hearts, and open doors for peace and the gospel.
  • Pray for the advance of God’s Kingdom among resistant and unstable regions of the world, that people will hear God’s voice, respond in faith, and that strong, discipled communities of believers will be established despite opposition.
