“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”

22 But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2

“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2 You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God:

Matthew 28:18-20

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

1. Confess disobedience in areas where Lilongwe City has resisted God’s word and righteousness. Pray for repentance where God’s instructions have been ignored.

2. Pray for obedience among leaders — that decisions made in Lilongwe City align with God’s will – from household to institutional levels.

3. Ask the Lord to raise a generation that listens to and obeys His voice so that the Church in Lilongwe will model obedience and holiness.

4. Intercede for believers to obey the Great Commission — to go, teach, and disciple the city. Pray that everyone who attends the Urban Missions Conference will be convicted to obey the Great Commission.

5. Declare that obedience will unlock the city’s blessings and favour.
